What Type of Bathroom Basin is the most durable?
With a wide range of bathroom basins on the market, you can choose anything from a fireclay finish to a natural stone finish. With our 35 years of experience and world-wide product range, Abey Australia brings strong product knowledge to Australians. With that, let us take you through the different types of materials used to manufacture the most durable bathroom basins.
Vitreous China
The most traditional of all basin materials, Vitreous China is made from raw materials that are fired and coated in enamel to ensure they are tough and shiny. The benefit of Vitreous China is its hard wearing, easy to clean and non-porous. Within our Gareth Ashton Collection, we have inset, undermount, countertop and powder room basins in both rectangular, oval and square shapes.
Fireclay
Similar to Vitreous China, Fireclay is a bathroom basin material moulded at extreme temperatures. The benefit of fireclay over ceramic is its ability to provide crisp square lines. We use fireclay to produce our Gareth Ashton Park Avenue square basin range. This collection comes in countertop, inset and semi-recessed styles with matching white plug and wastes.
ClearStone
Our ClearStone bathroom basin range has been sourced from Clearwater and marketed through our Gareth Ashton brand. Clearwater is an English based brand who specialises in stone composite products manufactured from ClearStone. ClearStone is manufactured from a resin mix including clay minerals and Gibbsite. ClearStone is a durable and hardwearing material. It has a scratch-resistant surface and is engineered to last a long time. The bathroom basin range has gorgeous thin lines and comes in a variety of shapes all with a matching stone plug and waste.
Natural Stone
Natural Stone is another material from Clearwater. The material is manufactured from Calium Carbonate derived from Marble and Limestone. This bathroom basin material is easy to maintain and any scratches can be simply buffed out. The basins are available in an oval or rectangular shape and both come with a matching stone plug and waste.
Metallic PVD
New to the range is the Gareth Ashton 304 Metallic Basin Collection. The range consists of modern metallic basins in four finishes – Stainless Steel, Black Pearl, Artisan Copper and Eureka Gold. The high-end finish on each is obtained using a unique 3-stage process resulting in a hard wearing PVD Surface. To compliment each of the basin finishes and shapes, each comes with a matching pop-up plug and waste. The pop-up waste not only matches perfectly it is also easy to use. To further enhance the metallic look.
Whatever Abey basin you choose, we have a comprehensive warranty on all of our products as well as care and maintenance instructions available.
