A guide to choosing the perfect Stainless Steel Kitchen Tapware

At Abey Australia, we pride ourselves on bringing the most diverse and quality kitchen tapware products to the Australian market. All our ranges have been hand-picked from manufacturers who lead the world in the design, technology and production techniques.

What type of Stainless Steel Kitchen Mixer should I use?

Abey’s Kitchen Sink Collection, Stainless Steel Kitchen Mixers are available in both 304 and 316 Stainless Steel. 304 Stainless Steel is the most common type of Stainless Steel. It is durable and easy to clean. 316 Stainless Steel is a Marine Grade Stainless Steel. Being marine grade, the kitchen mixers can be placed outside as they will not corrode even in tough saltwater environments. We only recommend using a 316 Stainless Steel Kitchen Mixer in an Alfresco area on in other high areas that are outside the home. Inside the home, either the 304 or 316 kitchen mixers will suffice.

Clean Drinking Water

Abey’s Stainless Steel Kitchen Mixers are 100% lead free. This ensures that your drinking water is as clean as it can be. In fact, by 2024 all tapware sold in Australia must be from lead-free.

Gooseneck versus Square Neck Spout Shape

As the name suggests, the gooseneck design has a spout that represents a curved design emulating that of a gooseneck. The advantage of this design is that it reduces splashing and makes it easier to use when washing large pots. All the Abey Stainless Steel Kitchen Mixers have mixers in this shape. The other option is a spout that has a square neck shape. This range is a modern option that works well with a square-looking sink.

The gooseneck 304 Stainless Steel KTA029 is a popular choice. With its pin lever handle and swivel spout, the kitchen tap has a timeless design. For the outside, try the square neck Laios Kitchen Mixer (517000) with its modern and stylish design.

Pull Out versus No Pull Out

All of our Stainless Steel Kitchen Mixers come with the option of having a pull out or not. Deciding whether you should purchase a pull out or non-pull out kitchen mixer ultimately depends upon what kitchen sink you have chosen. A pull-out kitchen mixer is perfect for those who have a large single bowl sink or more than two bowls. Using the pull out is a handy way to not only clean your pans and vegetable or fruit, it is also practical way of assisting in washing your sink.

Our new KTA037-316-BR Pull Out Mixer is made from 316 Stainless Steel and has a handy pull-out and easy to use swivel spout. For the inside of your home, we recommend the KTA014 gooseneck. It has a dual spray function and comes in a variety of finishes.

Swivel Spout

A Kitchen Mixer with a spout that swivels is a must for any kitchen. Being able to manoeuvre your spout from one side to the other quickly can be achieved with all our Abey Kitchen Mixers. Our range has been designed with practicality in mind. Our website specifications also give you details of the swivel for each of our mixers.

Finish

The choices are endless now with a diverse range of finishes on the market for kitchen mixers. The traditional chrome finish is no longer the only option. In 304 Kitchen Collection, you have the options of a Polished Steel, Brushed Steel, Matt Black, Black Pearl, Artisan Copper and Eureka Gold finish. The Black Pearl, Artisan Copper and Eureka Gold also match perfectly with our Piazza range of sinks.
